Cynthia Maybee, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Cynthia MaybeeCynthia joined Oak Hill Hospital 3 years ago and worked virtually in all nursing units throughout our facility. She has now settled in on the 3rd floor. She has been a CNA for 23 years. Cynthia says, “I love my job and getting to know my patients and seeing that they can get better with my help.” Cynthia’s nominations came from patients and associates alike. They all praise her for responding to patients needs in a very timely manner and making all of her patients her #1 priority. About her, her patients say, “She loves all of her patients… “, and “she makes me laugh”. She has a reputation for being hard working and a team player. One patient commented that whenever she needs something Cynthia returns promptly with the item plus usually she has something extra. For her part, Cynthia says that she loves working nights at Oak Hill Hospital because everyone helps each other out, “Especially Lisa, I could not do this job without her help. Our nurses are great”. She and her husband Dan live in Spring Hill with their daughters Rachel, 18, and Sarah, 16.

Verlesa Hobbs, Monitor Tech
Verlesa HobbsVerlesa began at Oak Hill Hospital in October 2002. When she first started, she floated to all other floors. She has settled in at the Progressive Care Unit on the second floor. Verlesa’s nomination came from one of her associates who could not say enough about Verlesa’s assistance in helping the associate interpret for her. Verlesa has a reputation for doing far more than what is asked of her, especially since she is bilingual. She will go the extra mile in typing out instructions in Spanish for her patients. About Oak Hill Hospital, Verlesa simply says, “I love the people I work with.”

Melanie Martin, RN
Melanie MartinMelanie began at Oak Hill Hospital in October of 2006 as a registered nurse. She has been working on the second floor Progressive Unit since that time but will be transferring to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit in December. Melanie’s nomination came from a physician who was prompted by the comments about her that he received from his patients. His patients regarded her as diligent, friendly, and sympathetic towards their needs. “She is a great nurse,” he said. Melanie enjoys working with her peers, coworkers, and she particularly enjoys the education and encouragement for growth that she receives at Oak Hill Hospital. “Everyone is always willing to help.”
